Surgery Tech - Surgery
Job Summary: Primarily a caregiver who, as part of the OR team, provides safe, efficient care to the patient in the
operating room.
This position shifts will be mainly day, with on call for after hours and weekends.
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Certified Technician program.
Experience Required: Experience preferred, but will consider a new graduate
Licensing, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Certification as Certified Surgical Tech
Basic Life Support certification (completed within orientation period)
First Aid
Vital signs
Working Conditions, Hazards
and Physical Effort:
• Works in a well lit, ventilated & air conditioned area
• Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights & sounds
• Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting & bending are required
• Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain & assault
• Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation & antineoplactic agents
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently
