Patient Care Tech - Med/Surg
Job Summary: Assists licensed nursing staff in providing safe, quality, direct patient care under the direction of the registered nurse & within scope of defined practice.
Education Required: High School Diploma/GED; Completion of nurse aide training program
Experience Required: Experience preferred; geriatric, med/surg, peds
Licensing, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Registration with Kentucky Nurse Aide Registration
Basic Life Support certification (completed within orientation period)
Working Conditions, Hazards
and Physical Effort:
• Works in a well lit, ventilated & air conditioned area
• Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights & sounds
• Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting & bending are required
• Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain & assault
• Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation & antineoplastic agents
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently
