Nurse Practitioner
A nurse practitioner provides comprehensive medical care to individuals and families. A nurse practitioner completes a master's degree at a school that is accredited by the American Nurses Association. To receive national certification, a nurse practitioner must pass an examination given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. All nurse practitioners must complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years and take a recertification exam every five years while maintaining a R.N. license.
